Post 107: Memory of Me

  1. There is something really different in this work compared to your other memory construction portrait. It's ineffable. It's slipping and floating into the ground and I see a psychological fatigue. The cropping too doesn't want to hold onto the image. It seems like a serene image but there is a subtle tension that you have balanced beautifully. I think the biggest difference in this work is that it is so subtle which is very strange for you...in a self-portrait that is. I have seen the same subtlety in some of your other work but never in an image of yourself. Some new and interesting things happening here. But I guess you recognize that in your statement about the purpose of art.
