Visitation

I had a visitor today while I was in the back yard making prints. I don't usually enjoy visitors arriving unannounced when I am working. That's why they call it "work". I occasionally will make an exception and entertain the surprise drop in guest. Today was one of those days.
You can come back any time little lady. I don't mind at all.

I did get some work done as well.

I see things.

  1. How lucky you are to have a visitor like that. I only get the occasional suburban squirrel or pesky racoon. I really like where this work is going and I'm wondering what made you want to turn the lens on yourself? (but you don't have to answer that) Also wondering about the original image that you divided - did you begin with one single image of the face or are you using several different shots to make up the composite. I'm hoping that you used different images because it would effectively make the patchwork/layering to be more monstrous...unrefined and raw. Much like the crude stitching that you eliminated from the work. This really is your best work yet... and you are not allowed to burn any of this.

    1. Whose story am I more aptly able to tell than my own? The self examination, in physical, mental, and emotional layers is quite illuminating to me. I like the questions that it encourages. The original image was actually a series of about 50 individual images that these individual sections are culled from. Different angles, different focal points in the originals, and the pieces seen here are all different exposures and different chemical combinations as well.

Thank you for your observations, and comments. No promises about the burning though.

  2. Sorry...you don't have a choice. No burning allowed. I will aggressively defend the artwork.
