Yes, I am Still Doing Stuff...

Each section is 12" x 12" and hand stitched together with that twine using a giant needle that I carved out of a stick. Right now it is 3' x 3', but I have 15 more sections to stitch on. I just didn't want anyone to think I had fallen asleep under a tree or something.

  1. You are taking everything apart and then putting it back together. What are you looking for in this process? The crudeness of the stitching reminds me of the autopsies I would often see at the funeral home I worked at, although they often used a baseball stitch?

    1. I think about the way we really look at something when we see it. Since only 2% of our field of vision is in focus at any given time, when we look at something, it is essentially being done in tiny increments and all of those "pictures" are stitched together by our brain to give us a more complete image. What if the organization of those snapshots was altered? Would the pieces of a cat rearranged still be recognizable as a cat? Would our interpretation of "cat" change?
